FLOW Steering Committee Agenda and Minutes, May 2007:

***After some discussion, we will continue to require FLOW membership to join FLOW trips, but will revisit the issue later

    
4. Access/Outreach/Conservation/Upcoming Events:
  A.) Letchworth Permit System - no update from Don Cochran
        - info. shared with Park Mgr. but no reply yet. 
***Waiting to hear back from Don Cochran

 

  B.) Outlet information - update from Adrian
        - Conesus Outlet? 
***No new info.

 

  C.) National Paddling Film Festival showing, to benefit GWC
        - Debrief.  How did it go? 
***Went well, sold out and will do it again in the future.

 

  D.) Adirondack Paddlefest - May 18-20: Old Forge, any info.?

***No info.

 

  E.) ADK Event - June 9th - see later agenda item 

***Alex looking for help.  Need something to attract some attention, “booth bait” or video.  Alex will post on Message Board and coordinate volunteers.  Andy is trying to get someone from GWC to help.

***We started requiring an account to post.  Received a couple of complaints.  Spam has been eliminated so far, but we’ve had people signing up for bogus accounts.

  E.)  Calls for video, photos - for Video Yearbook

Norm will work on setting up an online FLOW media archive.  Looking for someone to edit video.

            - food, Tom Congdon can help, but he has adjusted his catering business downward and now does family, friends and occasional events.
***Alex will talk to Tom to coordinate who’s bringing/doing what.

 

            - Tom will need some help with logisitics as he uses electric cookers now.

  A.) GWC - relationship - any next steps?

11. Other items?
***Steve reported that the DEC is doing studies on possible adverse effects of releases on the Indian/Hudson on the trout population.  Possibility that this study could result in curtailed access and/or releases on the Indian/Hudson.
